Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
The short version: you can play Fibbr without an account, and then nothing that identifies you is collected. If you sign in with Google, we keep your name, email address and daily scores so you can be on the leaderboard and add friends. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your information.
Fibbr (fibbr.io) is a daily trivia game: three suspects, three statements, one lie. This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and what you can do about it.
Playing without an account
- On your device: your progress, streak, history and settings (sound, screen shake and so on) are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
- Your answers: when you accuse a suspect, the game asks our server who the liar was. Your pick is added to an anonymous tally of how many players accused each suspect. Nothing in it identifies you.
Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional. It puts your daily score on the leaderboard and lets you add friends. When you sign in, we receive and keep:
-
From Google: your name, email address, Google account ID and profile picture link. We
only ask Google for this basic profile information (the
openid, emailandprofilepermissions), never access to your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else. - Your display name: made from your Google name as first name plus last initial (for example "Dean S."). You can change it any time in Settings. This is the only name other players see.
- Your games: for each round you play while signed in, when it started, who you accused, whether you used your clue, and your score.
- Friends: a friend code made for you, and the list of players you've added.
What other players can see
- Signed-in players can see the daily leaderboard: each player's display name, rank and score for that day.
- Your friend code is only seen by people you share it with. Adding someone shows you their display name and score; it doesn't tell them.
- Your email address, Google account and individual answers are never shown to other players.
How we use it
Only to run the game: scoring your rounds, building the leaderboard, keeping your friends list, and letting the game's administrator manage the daily cases. We don't use your information for advertising, don't build profiles about you, and don't sell or share it with anyone except the services below, which we need to run Fibbr.
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts the website and serves its files.
- Supabase runs our database and sign-in: daily cases, the answer tally, accounts and scores.
- Google handles signing in, if you choose to.
Like any website, these services see technical information such as your IP address and browser type when your device connects to them, and may keep it briefly in their logs for security and reliability. Fibbr has no analytics or advertising trackers, and its fonts, art and sounds are all served from fibbr.io itself.
Cookies and local storage
Fibbr itself doesn't set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for your progress and settings, and, if you sign in, for keeping you signed in. Signing in with Google also involves Google's own cookies on Google's pages, covered by Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Account information and scores are kept while you have an account, so the leaderboard and your history keep working. When you ask us to delete your account, your profile, scores and friends list are deleted. The anonymous answer tallies stay, since they contain nothing about you.
Your choices
- Play without signing in. Everything except the leaderboard and friends works without an account.
- Change your display name in Settings, any time.
- Sign out in Settings. Your scores stay on the board until you ask us to delete them.
- See or delete your information: email us (below) from the address you sign in with, and we'll send you a copy or delete your account within 30 days.
- Disconnect Google: you can remove Fibbr's access at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Children
Fibbr isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll say so in the game before it applies.
